- Collins was the first forest products company in North America to adopt the principles of the Natural Step, a globally recognized business sustainability organization.
- Collins forest lands were the first privately owned forests certified by the independent Scientific Certification Systems.
- Collins was also the first forest products company to register with the California Climate Action Registry, reporting all of its greenhouse gas emission reduction efforts.
