The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an international, non-profit organization that unites individuals, governments, NGOs, and businesses like Collins under a common goal: protecting healthy, resilient forests. Their policies unify their stakeholders around the common guidelines for forestry that are environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable.
The FSC® pioneered forest certification and their standards for earning certification remain the most rigorous and respected among certifications. Managers of certified forests are required to:
The FSC® logo on lumber and consumer goods is a guarantee that the wood you’re purchasing comes from forestlands that are managed in a manner that is environmentally and socially responsible. It’s the mark that distinguishes between clever enviro-friendly advertising that takes advantage of consumers’ desire to make responsible purchasing decisions, and a solid commitment to management practices that protect and enhance the diverse ecosystems of our forestland.
Our FSC®-certified hardwood and softwood lumber, hardwood veneer and veneer logs, and particleboard are known as CollinsWood®. CollinsWood® is available internationally and is gaining wide recognition as architects, designers, builders, manufacturers, and craftsmen choose to protect the environment by specifying and using certified forest products.
Collins is proud of our long-standing promise to uphold land and resource stewardship.
