FSC-Certified Forests
Community Profile
Kane Hardwood’s concerns extend beyond our timberlands to the people who make forest work their livelihood and to our community as a whole. We directly employ more than 100 people and hire 100 additional local contractors. Being the largest sawmill employer in McKean County, Kane Hardwood knows that our community depends on us. We willingly accept that responsibility.
Kane Hardwood donates to many organizations such as the Kane Rotary Club, Kane Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, local schools and teams, and the annual black cherry festival. In addition to monetary contributions, Kane Hardwood employees donate many hours and services to various community projects, and are very active in the local schools. Whether it be speeches on careers or Project Learning Tree activities with the elementary schools, youth and education are stressed.
Kane Hardwood makes every attempt to uphold the Collins tradition of concern for the community and its betterment.
